Other SRF Facilities

Some of the institutions involved in SRF research and development or operation of SRF accelerators are listed below.  More complete information can be found in the proceedings of the biennial SRF workshops.  The most recent workshop was SRF 2005.

North America

• Argonne National Lab, home of ATLAS, the first SRF accelerator for heavy ions (USA).
• Cornell University, home of CESR, an SRF electron-positron collider (USA).
• Fermilab, which is designing an SRF linac for a proposed Proton Driver and is participating in the design effort for the proposed International Linear Collider (USA).
• Jefferson Lab, home of CEBAF, a 4 GeV recirculating SRF electron linac (USA).
• Los Alamos National Lab, which has been developing SRF technology for transmutation of nuclear waste and other applications (USA).
• Oak Ridge National Lab, host of the Spallation Neutron Source, which includes an SRF linac for protons (USA).
• TRIUMF, home of the ISAC ion linac, which is being upgraded with SRF resonators (Canada).

Europe

• CEA Saclay, whose DAPNIA Laboratory is developing SRF for light sources, linear colliders, and other applications (France).
• CERN, former home of the LEP collider, presently designing a Superconducting Proton Linac (Switzerland).
• DESY, home of HERA, an SRF electron-proton collider, the VUV-FEL SRF electron linac (formerly known as TTF), and the planned XFEL SRF electron linac (Germany).
• IN2P3 Orsay, whose LAL and IPN Labs are developing SRF for linear colliders and other applications (France).
• INFN Genova, whose Applied Superconductivity Group is developing SRF for a proton linac (Italy).
• INFN Legnaro, home of ALPI, a heavy-ion SRF linac (Italy).
• INFN Milano, whose LASA Lab is developing SRF for linear collider and proton linac applications (Italy).
• Technische Universität Darmstadt, home of S-DALINAC, a 130 MeV SRF electron linac (Germany).
• Universität Wuppertal, which has been doing research in SRF and field emission for many years (Germany).

Asia

• JAEA (formerly known as JAERI), home of an SRF tandem booster for heavy ions and an SRF electron linac (Japan).
• KEK, home of KEK-B, an SRF electron-positron collider (Japan).
• Peking University, whose Institute of Heavy Ion Physics is developing SRF for heavy-ion linacs (China).
• The Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, home of the Taiwan Photon Source, an SRF electron ring (Taiwan).

Australia

• Autralian National University, whose accelerator facilies include an SRF linac for heavy ions.
