The Beta Counting System was installed in the N3 vault at the beginning of November 2005 to run a campaign of beta-delayed neutron experiments. NSCL Expts. 03034 (Woehr) and 05028 (Kratz) are now nearly complete. Detection system was BCS + Ge planar, surrounded by NERO. Three SeGA detectors were placed upstream for isomer decay identification. |

The b-decay spring campaign - experiments 01006, 02012, 02028, 02032, 02004, 01027 and 01015 - ended on May 11, and all of the post-experiment calibrations have been completed. The beta counting system has been dismounted and put into storage while we wait for lab space. The b-NMR system is being reassembled in the S1 vault for use during the summer running period. |
