The ECOS working group appointed by NuPECC in order to assess the current research activity in the field of nuclear structure and related topics with high intensity stable ion beams and to identify future perspectives and needs, has completed its work and produced a document available at the NuPECC web pages. The aim of the town meeting is to discuss the content of this documents through the presentation of all its aspects. A dedicated session will be organised to focus on the discussion of the recommendations of the ECOS working group to NuPECC. The attendance and contribution of as many as possible of the nuclear physics community in Europe to this town meeting is highly recommended in order to reflect the importance of the document as part of the future of the field.
