Cosmic Rays & Showers
Cosmic rays are high energy particles coming from space, mainly from outside of the
solar system. These particles are constantly bombarding the earth, and can interact with particles in our atmosphere or on Earth's surface. When cosmic rays knock into another particle,
they have enough energy to create more particles (think Einstein's E=mc2!) which we can sometimes observe as a cosmic shower, or many particles being produced from a cosmic ray interaction.
